RP Title Goes Here

RULES

1) You must be a legal adult to play here.  This is true for any room at RPH, but it can’t be emphasized enough.  If you’re under eighteen years of age, you will be automatically banned.

2) There is a warning system here.  If you get warned too many times, you’ll get banned.  Easy peasy.

3) You don’t have to like everyone in this game, but you do have to respect other players while in the room.  If you feel an uncontrollable urge to disrespect one another, do it on someone else’s lawn.  You’ll get a warning if malicious or disrespectful behavior is detected in our house.

4) There’s no perfect length of post.  During dialogue-heavy scenes, you probably don’t need to write an encyclopedia to get your point across.  In exposition-heavy scenes, you will probably need to write a lot.  Try to read the situation before jumping in.

5) There’s a rule against making overpowered characters in this game.  Don’t do it.  It’s not fun, it does nothing for the story, and we will harass you until you bring your character down to an acceptable level.

6) New players will be limited to one character per person.  Regulars will be allowed to have more.  We don’t hate new people; in fact, we want you guys to stick around.  But before making a legion of characters, it’s better to get to know how this game works.

7) Combat can occasionally lead to a character incurring significant, if not severe or fatal damage.  That said, character death is allowed, but only if the player of the dying character gives their consent before the cause of death is played out.  One-hit kills are not allowed; please refer to rule 5 for further clarification.  If there are any disputes, please see a moderator or admin for mediation.

RP BREAD AND BUTTER

Setting:

The story takes place on Luxa, a planet existing in conditions similar to Earth, thus making it habitable.  It was once a lush, thriving planet, filled with natural flora, fauna, and resources.  However, the planet has been twice ravaged by global-scale disasters; one of these disasters occurred as recently as one hundred years ago.  Crime and corruption are at an all-time-high; the entire planet exists in dystopia, teetering on the boundary between order and chaos.  Magic is possible, but is rarely a natural occurrence due to Luxa's highly irregular mana flow; scientists and engineers outnumber magicians about ten thousand to one.  Magic-like techniques and effects have been made possible due to advances in magic-related technology, but these skills are nowhere near as powerful as actual magic.

Class System:

Elysials

At the top of the social pyramid, you’ll find the Elysial class.  They claim ownership to a large percentage of Luxa’s wealth and power; many Elysials are politicians or owners of large corporations.  Though most Elysials are elves, humans and human-elf hybrids also claim Elysial heritage.  Elysials were once said to have been chosen by Agnaea, the supreme deity in Luxa’s ancient religion; they all carry a triangular mark on their bodies (a mark which would later become the religion’s symbol).  There are only two ways to become a part of the Elysial class: one is to be born into it, the other is to marry into an Elysial family.

Verdans

The bulk of Luxa’s population belongs to the Verdan class.  Though Verdans do not enjoy the aristocratic status of the Elysial class, it’s normal for Verdans to live fairly comfortable lives.  They often serve as a buffer between the top and bottom of the social pyramid.  Like Elysials, Verdans carry a mark on their bodies: theirs is circular.

Gehennites

Bottom of the barrel.  Untouchables.  Full-time practitioners of dirty work.  If Elysials were said to be favored by Agnaea, Gehennites were said to have been abandoned and cast away by the deity.  They’re the only class without any characteristic markings on their bodies.
