WELCOME

TO SANCTUARY

The Base is a roleplaying group based upon a post-apocalyptic setting. Players are expected to know and understand the dangers humanity faces as they annihilate monsters of all rankings, appearances, shapes and sizes. While rather well off, Sanctuary is always looking to expand their member database for dispatching at any time. Safety from the monsters is found here, but so is the will to fight and destroy. It is up to you - will you fight to save humanity and join the extermination team known as Sanctuary, or will you ally yourself with the creatures that seek to rip the world, and humankind, apart and begin it anew?

MODERATORS

OF SANCTUARY

Every room prides itself on its moderators. For The Base, these are the people who help run the room with love and adoration for each of the people who take interest. They have put forth a ton of effort to make this room what it is today, and each of them strive to keep this room as successful as it has been. They are the ones to turn to if things go awry, or if you merely have a question about deeper detail of the plot. They're also very friendly, too, so don't be afraid to try to chat with them!

KLAUS HART

Hey, and welcome to Sanctuary. I don't really have much to say other than whatever questions you may have or doubts that may arise, don't hesitate to contact me. I'll happily answer anything you throw at me regardless of what it is. So enjoy your stay with us.

LUCILLE CORNELL

Salutations, and a big thank you for looking over the group page. If the others aren't around to answer questions, I'd be more than happy to answer whatever question or concern that you may have. Other than that, I hope we can roleplay soon, and have a good one!

SORREN MERCER

Hello. You must be intrigued by the room. Do be warned that should you cause any problems, I am the more unforgiving of my two kinder counterparts, and you will be out within an instant. With that being said, please do have fun and enjoy your stay in the room, lovely.

THE OVERALL LOOK

OF SANCTUARY

The Base is a military-esque base located beneath a metropolis city that was nearly abandoned, where people send their requests for removal of a monster, for a price. Of course, The Base contains most of the weaponry needed in removing these monsters, always inventing new ones and sometimes doing experiments to create the best hunter. Rumors state that the Sanctuary were the creators of these monsters, but they deny any claim and simply state that "We only thrive for the best for the people's safety."

There are those who are "exceptions" on being able to access the base, otherwise only members of the Sanctuary are allowed to enter.

THE SUMMARY

OF SANCTUARY

Peace.

When you read or even hear that word, what is the first thing that comes to your mind? No war, or perhaps no fights at all. Maybe even the hunger of millions has finally reached its sated state. Perhaps there's no violence, nothing wrong with the world, and that is actually something humankind equally attempted to achieve throughout the years. But did they actually manage to accomplish this?

Quite the opposite, if you ask the people who managed to survive the outburst of monsters; creatures that were completely out of this world. One might think, what did we do to deserve this? Have the gods turned their backs on humankind and left them to fend for themselves with the new threat that was now pushing them to the brink of extinction?

You see, as all good scientists decide to do, they tried to create this special substance that could be transmitted from one person to the other that could serve as a strength enhancement. The thought of "oh, this could actually work well for me" would cross your mind, but what they didn't tell you was the fact that this little "enhancement" was actually a "parasite" that would transfigure your body, your whole existence to something that people used to make stories of.

You were now those monsters that your children thought that hid in their closets or even under their beds. You were now the nightmare.

This is where the bounty hunters come in.

Bounty hunters, as they always are in stories, are the "exterminators." But in this particular case, they are the "elite" force that could manage to counterattack this parasite and become something much more powerful than a normal "human."

They are the heroes of this story that work for a price, the people who aren't phased by anything, the ones who "laugh in the face of danger," the ones that can cleanse the world of the shadow that was now overcasting the human race and pushing them closer to their ending point thanks to an antidote that runs through their veins. But what happens when some of these said monsters decide to join forces with those who hunt them?

With that said, Sanctuary's Modus Operandi has always been to exterminate the monsters seeking to ruin the safety mankind once had to offer. Through various means, they have somewhat managed to achieve this, though the world is far from saved. With the aid of certain creatures whose M.O. seems unknown, perhaps it can be said that fortune is within the grasps of those who seek it in Sanctuary's ranks. The only issue with that fortune seems to be the everlasting question of: how can they grasp it and save the world?

THE CENSUS

FOR SANCTUARY

These are the current numbers for Sanctuary's finest. This number will either increase or decrease based upon the amount of new members or member deaths. Members of Sanctuary are assigned to memorize the finest aspects of the field they have been placed into; failure to do so will result in termination of Sanctuary's alliance with said "member" or "members." To date, no alliances have been terminated. Please do not be the first.

THE RULES

OF SANCTUARY

You must ask before joining the plot. Do not expect to be added immediately, as we do not accept just anyone who comes along. We have standards, as does everyone else.

Blank profiles are a no. You will be kicked for them and asked to fill out legitimate information before you will be welcomed back.

If there is confusion over anything, PM only one of the people in the room "The Base."

No canon characters are ever allowed. Originals only. However, you may use a canon character as a faceclaim for your character.

Joke names are not allowed. Trolling, impersonation profiles, etc. They will get you banned.

Drama of any sort will result in a kick for both parties, and if, when returning to the room, more occurs, a ban will be set in place.

Explicit themes are forbidden in the room. Joking is a tad different in this case, but do not write smut in the room. Be it multi-para, para or one lining, it is advisable that you simply avoid this at all costs.

Gore, vore, anything of the sort is forbidden in regards to attempting to gross someone out, but if it pertains to the roleplay, by all means, have fun with it. Description is description, just be mindful of other people's feelings towards it and try to get a feel for their reactions to such things.

If someone asks you to stop doing something, stop doing it. You will be kicked if any one of the moderators see you ignoring their requests for you to stop whatever it is that you are doing.

IC ≠ OOC. Do not misinterpret it.

You will only be given three warnings before you are banned. Be careful of the things you say and do, please, and be sure to have fun in this room.

Do not ever godmod. Just don't do it. Do you want to be banned?

Do not discriminate people based on their race, sexuality, ethnicity, anything. Ad hominem is ridiculous and Sorren, as well as the other two mods, will kick you immediately for it. And if you do not know what ad hominem means, you probably are not old enough to be on this site.

Be mindful that a lot of work went into this plot, and the moderators are somewhat friendly to new ideas about the plot and its branches, but you are forbidden from changing the entire goal and idea of Sanctuary itself.

Do not ever treat assault, rape, molestation, or other personal matters like such as a joke. It is not a joke, and it is never, ever funny. Doing this will get you banned. No exceptions.

Up to two characters are allowed in the room at a time. Just two. No more than that, please.

GENERAL QUESTIONS

ABOUT SANCTUARY

dO i NEED TO PUT IN AN APPLICATION TO BE PART OF SANCTUARY?
No. The idea of Sanctuary is that you can make a character that wishes to affiliate themselves with "humanity's strongest" or that you are already a part of that faction. Or, as you know, you can create a monster character of your own or base one off of an already existing creature.

what is sanctuary even for?
For starters, the universe around Sanctuary is a formerly normal world. As in, modern day world. Technology, colleges, churches, etc. Once the monsters began to wreak havoc on this alternate universe setting, however, technology and the social world experienced a swift decline. Because of this, Sanctuary came to light once it it became comprised of survivors. Any technology, weaponry and basic survival needs come from Sanctuary alone.

Is Sanctuary affiliated with anyone else?
Not really, no. Sanctuary is the first group created by the monster attack's survivors, and because of the large number of those survivors, no one bothered to branch off and create a new group for fear of dying.

Can I put                in the plot?
You must ensure that your character can fit in a ranking for Sanctuary's factions, or that your character can fit into a monster category.

Can I put my character in the highest ranking classes from the start?
No. Do not even ask.

Can my character be the supreme being of                class?
This goes with the above question and the answer is still no.

what if I have an idea for a monster or Sanctuary ranking?
Bring it to Klaus, Lucille, and Sorren. Propose your idea in PM to one of us and we will bring you into a side room to review the concept, ask questions and gauge how effective or ineffective that ranking or monster would be to our plot. From there, you are allowed to set the basis for that creature in our plot and, if it is good enough, we will allow you to be in charge of that particular class.

What is the location of Sanctuary?
Look at the group page; look at the picture; make an educated guess. If you require elaboration, the above ground entrance is located amidst the ruins of the above picture.

Can I pair my character off with someone from The Base?
I mean, you could, but given the nature of the plot, it is far from a guarantee that your character's partner will come back alive if they are a hunter. So long as this pairing does not invoke drama, no one really cares.

can I put my kawaii desu koneko-hime-chan in your plot-desu nyaa?
No. Go find another anime based plot. You are not welcome here.

Can my character be good at everything?
Absolutely... not.
