How much should you donate?

Any amount, $5 and over, is fine. Less than that and paypal fees make it a bit silly.

Why donate?

Role Play Haven has custom developement done to it, and being done to it, to improve it. It runs on a custom set-up server. The goal is to make the best possible place to RP. This takes time and money.
A new chat application is being developed to handle hundreds of users and many more features like you'd see in a normal IM client(IE AIM, Yahoo), but developed specifically for RP'ing.

Donator Perks

Donators get color, background images, and CSS-lite enabled in their profiles to make them look nicer.
In the future, more things will be added for donators, but they'll remain minor, such as being able to make a room that has its name colored.

Invite your friends

A status message on yahoo/aim/msn where you have friends that RP works well. Or you're a part of an RP group on a website.

But try to avoid things that seem spammy, and instead have it be more of an invitation than spam.
