Welcome.
This is the group behind the Furry Lounge chat, a room geared toward the weird, weird people whom enjoy roleplay games( and probably horrendous quantities of cybering) revolving around anthropomorphic characters. That is, animal people wandering around on two legs and shooting the shit like any other bloke around. The room itself, however, is not ideal for actual play as it is more a meeting place for the players thereof. You will be much more likely to find crazed, weird discussions and perhaps more informal action posts bandied between friends there than anything "serious" going on.
The ground rules shall be minimal and will stand for the room. This group is primarily for any discussion that may need to take place.
Rule 1: If you do not own the character you are playing as, the art utilized in the profile or any other variant thereof pertaining to ownership, SAY SO IN YOUR PROFILE. The generous owner of this chat site has had entirely too much problem related to this and I think it is high time -we- do something about it (before she decides to).
To be quite specific, a number of artists have found out about their characters and art being used on this chat system and come at her about it. Most of their issues seem to be that they are at times led to believe that the individuals using their work are actually, seriously, posing as -them- as a person.
Those of you who did/do this should try to meet them half-way, at least. Though, you should really try to come up with your own characters, even if just based off of whatever crazy sex picture you just surfed up. Imitation of this nature is not, interestingly enough, flattery and do look at this from the perspective of the originator. You wouldn't like to find out someone was using your creations for their own silly, weird and likely raunchy play, if you were them, and worse still might be the confusion it could bring to other people.
So just say it isn't you, and even link to their gallery if they have one.
It will save everyone a lot of time, trouble and heartache.
Rule 2: No serious, bonafide trolling.
I don't care about any of you getting butthurt in the room. Sorry, I don't. Have at your little arguments all you want, though if things get too personal you're going to have to take it elsewhere.
I will, however, draw the line at someone making an insulting joke regarding the entire room, outright pushing the fact that they're just there to demean everyone present. It ain't happening, I'll spit right back in your eye every time, bro.
~Addendum; I will make exceptions for individuals with a serious tendency to cause problems and arguments with others though. Especially when the ensuing explosions run on a large scale. They, I think, fall right under this rule.
New addition under this umbrella: Shock value linkage.
I do not like that crap. We'll probably ignore it a bit unless it becomes excessive, but seriously. Take it elsewhere. Especially scat-oriented stuff. Go somewhere else with that.
Explanation:
Myself, the chat, etc; I suppose I should give my reasoning for having taken the group and the rules we are using.
I don't think anyone else can do it better. I'm a complete outsider. I did not go to RPC, I was only on Yiffstar for maybe two months. I came to this place without much idea of who any of you were or, more importantly, any biases against anyone. Or a clique. Or any care about any single one of you guys' well being.
(I still don't have any of these, really. I only really dislike perhaps one person in the chat, I frown on just a few annoying things people do, I don't really talk to..anyone, in PM or anything (let alone play much at all) to have a 'clique' and I just view most all of this as fleeting entertainment and funny conversation.)
I do, however, like the place as a whole. Everyone fooling around, largely getting along, even arguing. If things get too hot, you handle it. You're all adults, there's a block function, you can tell people off and just stop responding/commenting so they have nothing to work off of. They're just other weirdos in a furry sex chat, it's no skin off you if you can't see eye to eye.
I think anyone else would do it worse. Which is to say, bring in their own personal baggage. Their friends, their ideas of how shit works...it usually don't, guys...and just generally mix in stuff that don't belong and will fuck things up for -the other guy- in the situation.
At the heart of it, my only real intent here is to ensure that we don't get into any trouble. With each other, with the rest of the site. The rest is up to you guys. Your situations are your own.
By the way, in case you're curious, most of my moderators/Operators are not even really 'friends' with me. If anything, the term 'associate' might be loosely used. I may have conversed with some of them as little as once, if at all.
I do, however, observe them. The way they talk, the things they do. The actions they undertake in certain situations. Altogether, gauging the way they think, before I grant status or even entertain the idea.
I make these decisions with great care and anyone asking will be refused, as kindly as I can muster. I do not want anyone with an active desire to moderate. This tends to spell disaster, I believe.
Moderation/Operatoringation:
Alright. Due to some issues, we must make a slight change in procedure.
Moderators/Operators are now to take screenshots to document bans. This does not adhere to kicks, they are occasionally a necessary show of force and are temporary while bans are out of our hands once committed.
Moderators/Operators will be held accountable for their actions. That being said, if any user believes a ruling to be faulty, they should likewise screenshot the exchange, upload somewhere and bring this up with me as soon as possible. I will then go over the available material, take in all pertinant information from those involved and come to a decision.
.....personally, i thought that all went without saying, but apparently it wasn't so obvious or logical and needed to go down in writing.
..And, of course, if you have any questions or problems, feel free to come to any of the staff.
Especially to me. Especially if you have a problem with what I'm doing or how I'm doing it.
I loooooooooove that shit.
Vent:
A member of the chat, Duce, has also volunteered use of his own ventrilo server; vt.gamehotel.dk port: 3800
Fair warning, there will be languages other than english used on Duces' server as he and his real-life friends use it and speak danish. There, also, try not to be jerks to one another.
Duce has had to put up a password protection on his server. The password is: Duceftw
FEAR COMBAT: no longer available.
Something I felt like leaving up.
You missed the FEAR Combat games. Neener neener neener.
Thanks for reading, golden rule yourselves and have fun in the chat.
